In meetings 1, 2 and 3 we invite you to bring a cooked dish to share and sit together at the TABLE. In meeting 4 we will cook together, so we invite you to bring an ingredient to join with the rest and prepare a collective dish.
TABLE is an invitation to pay attention to our daily eating behavior, to our relationship with food and the experience of eating. An expanded framework to explore the ritual of cooking and shared food as an artistic, multi-sensorial, relational, political and sensual medium, from a journey through the table, its elements and the beings that inhabit it, vibrant materials of the digestive imaginary.
TABLE#01: the edible environment
tuesday 26th september - from 14:00 to 16:00h
We begin by exploring the table as a particular environment of what we consider edible, an assemblage of aromas, links, flavours, textures, knowledge and circumstances that sustain the combinations of foods we put in our mouths. You are invited to bring a cooked dish to share and sit together at the TABLE.
TABLE#02: the pot and the jar
tuesday 10th october - from 14:00h to 16:00h
We will set the table considering the spoons, pots, bowls, glasses and mortars, and we will pay attention to the technologies, shapes, forces and structures that contain, cook and transport food and water to our mouths. You are invited to bring a cooked dish to share and sit together at the TABLE.
Activity managed together with Natalia Castañeda A.
TABLE#03: salt and micro-organisms
tuesday 24 october - from 14:00h to 16:00h
We stretch and salt space-time and bring to the table microorganisms, links and life-death-life cycles of food fermentation and bioremediation practices of farmland. You are invited to bring a cooked dish to share and sit together at the TABLE.
Activity managed together with Adrianna Szojda.
TABLE#04: Collective digestion
tuesday 31 october - from 13:00h to 16:00h
The fourth meeting will be the last, like the legs of the table and the stomachs of the cow. We come to the end of a polygastric process in which we will ruminate and digest all that has been salivated, ingested and shared. What new digestive imaginaries emerge and in what ways are they metabolised in the collective? Is it possible to keep a process in memory by ingesting it? In this meeting we will cook together, so we invite you to bring any ingredient you like to share and sit together at the TABLE.
Activity coordinated by Sonia Villar.
