Antoni Hervàs studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona (2006) and Engraving and Printmaking at the Escola Llotja. Some of his solo exhibitions include Copacabana, at The RYDER Projects (Madrid, 2021), Sausages, at OKELA (Bilbao, 2021), The Rubbery, at 1646 (The Hague, 2017) and El Misterio de Caviria, at La Capella (Barcelona, 2016). He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, such as La máscara nunca miente, at the CCCB (Barcelona, 2021), Apunts per un incendio dels ulls, at MACBA (Barcelona, 2021), Itinerarios XXVI, at Centro Botín (Santander, 2021), Humor absurdo, at CA2M (Móstoles, 2019), Adiós, que estés bien (at the museums of the Community of Madrid, 2019) and Generaciones 2018, at La Casa Encendida (Madrid, 2018). He has curated exhibitions such as La pintura del futuro, at Can Palauet (Mataró, 2018), Gimmick vol1 & vol2, at SAC (Barcelona, 2017) and Mercuri Splash, together with David Bestué at Fundació Miró (Barcelona, 2015). Hervàs has been resident at Gasworks (London, 2018), 18th Street Arts Center (Los Angeles, 2017), and Hangar (2012) and won the City of Barcelona Visual Arts Award in 2016.

His work revolves around drawing, a simple and elastic discipline that allows it to absorb other disciplines such as performance, sculpture, music or installation, to take on a new body, thus questioning the supposed limits that define it.
A liquid process that draws on sources such as popular culture, oral tradition, mythology or archives of resistance to weave complex narrative structures, built from accessible materials that shun nobility and celebrate the scar.
Woven through strident combinations of colours, these Frankensteinian footnotes rise up and expand to claim that what happens on the margins also makes up the whole.
