tau luna acosta

Tau Luna (Medellín, 1989) is a visual artist, mediator, researcher, cultural producer, curator, and educator. A non-binary and migrant person, their practice revolves around human migration as a phenomenon rooted in colonial violence, as well as listening to and sharing memory with more-than-human migratory beings. Their work intersects ancestral, scientific, and intuitive technologies to investigate the soil, stones, listening, and the memory of what appears inert (though they believe it is not—because nothing truly is) They develop participatory devices that blur the boundaries between pedagogy, knowledge production, and collaborative art, integrating practices such as textile crafts, scientific research, electronics, performance, and installation.

They hold a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies with a queer perspective from Universidad Miguel Hernández (2025), and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and Curatorship with a specialization in Latin American art from Universidad del Museo Social Argentino (2015). They have been awarded several grants, including the Independent Studies Program at MACBA (2019–2020), WHW Akademija in Zagreb (2022), among others.

Their work has unfolded between Latin America and Europe, where they have coordinated and produced projects in critical mediation, community-based pedagogies, and support for migrant and transfeminist collectives.

tau luna acosta is a Creation Resident from 2023 to 2025.
