collective listening sessions

“Poem/me xx2,” a hybrid listening/reading session in the form of a multilingual narrative that brings together various memories, poems, and songs ranging from the personal to the collective to trace a path toward the diaspora. This session is part of a series of explorations Ikram Bouloum is currently working on, focusing on the diaspora and on how to engage with poetics as a decolonial, fugitive, and anti-imperialist practice.

The SEC (Sesiones de Escucha Colectiva) are a space to experience deep listening from a physical dimension. More than just hearing, it is about collectively inhabiting the practice of listening as a tool for connection, reflection, and sensory exploration.

Guided by guest artists, each session offers sound journeys that invite attentive, immersive, and expanded perception of sound.

SEC arises from the desire to pause and share a moment of listening, expanding our perception of sound beyond the audible and generating a collective sound experience from the body.

Ikram Bouloum is a Catalan-Amazigh artist and curator. After several years focused primarily on music curation and artistic direction, she is now returning to and prioritizing her artistic and research practice, reconnecting with voice, storytelling, and music through a multidisciplinary and anti-disciplinary approach.
In her music, performed mostly in her native language—Rif Amazigh—she explores themes that cut across the North African diaspora, reimagining its legacies through a poetic, political, and experimental lens.

SEC (Sesiones de Escucha Colectiva) is part of REBOST, a program line managed autonomously and collectively by the members of La Escocesa, who decide on the activities they want to organize in relation to the interests and needs of the group.
