(Pamplona- Iruñea 1978)
His work revolves around the tensions that arise between ideology, representation, and memory, exploring through painting, installation, and photography the remnants of truncated political projects and other forms of collective resistance.
He has worked in conflict-ridden contexts, undertaking residencies in countries such as Iraqi Kurdistan, Cuba, China, and Mexico. His practice draws on historical research and inherited imaginaries to construct a visual essay that operates outside official historiography.
His work has been exhibited in institutions including Tabacalera (Madrid), Museo de Navarra, Academia de España en Roma, San Telmo Museoa (Donostia), CIAJG (Guimarães), and the galleries Carreras Múgica, Pelaires, and Nordés.
Taxio Ardanaz is a creative resident from 2026 to 2027.
