In this workshop, we’ll make our own notebooks using recycled paper from our publications, surplus paper, and—if you’d like—paper you bring from home. For binding, we’ll have staplers, spiral binders, glue guns, and sewing machines available.
We’ll also use the risograph machine to print the cover and some interior pages in a single color.
No prior experience is necessary.
We recommend bringing a computer to create your designs.
Tuesday, December 1
In the first session, we’ll explore different types of binding, formats, and how to personalize the notebooks.
We’ll also design the front covers, back covers, and some interior pages: we can create templates, guidelines, grid patterns, or a page with our personal information.
Wednesday, December 2
On the second day, we’ll print: We’ll learn how the Risograph works and how to prepare files for printing.
Thursday, December 3
On the last day, we’ll assemble and bind the notebooks.
