50th anniversary of the celebration of the international sex workers' day

On June 2, 1975 about 200 sex workers took the church of Sant Nitzier in Lyon, France, to denounce police abuses and lack of rights. This year, 2025, is the 50th anniversary of this event and for this reason, several sex workers and their allies are coming together to commemorate the struggle and resistance of their comrades.

For this meeting, on May 31, the 2J Commission (sex workers artists and allied activists) organizes a meeting with projections and cabaret where we will see burlesque, pole dance shows and a post-porn performance. There will also be a fair/museum with puti material.

This is a proposal from Barcelona but is coordinated with other cities in Europe to jointly commemorate this important date for activism against the discrimination of sex work.

Participation in this event requires respect for sex workers, avoiding any comments, behavior or speech of hatred or prejudice towards the group.

Comisión 2J is a commission that brings together several sex workers and allied activists from various collectives and other comrades. Among the collectives that participate we find Aprosex (Association of Sex Professionals), La Red de Putas Artistas y sus Aliadas del Estado Español, ESWA (European Sex Workers Alliance), and other autonomous comrades who prefer to remain anonymous.

We also take this space to remind you that on June 2nd there will be a demonstration at 18:30h in Plaça Universitat to celebrate and claim together the International Day of Sex Workers. We wait for you!
