La Metro (Catalonia, 1996) is an artist, researcher and queer femme activist. They position themselves as a pro-sex, pro-rights and anti-racist activist from an embodied objectivity (Haraway, 1991) to create corporeal-visual devices interweaving feminist kuir/queer f(r)ictions through archival art, performance, audiovisual, fanzine, digital art, installation and artistic mediation. In addition, they claim art - and the street - as a space to meet others and heal trauma collectively.
Graduated in Fine Arts, with a Master's degree in Cultural Studies with Cuirs Perspectives, they were awarded the IMIO scholarship of the Instituto de la Mujer (2023) that will finance their studies. They are currently developing their doctoral thesis in Artistic Creation to propose an archive on the activisms of Sex Work Feminism in the city of Barcelona with the aim of recognising the memory of the protagonists, honouring their resilience and combating all stigmas.
They have co-organised the festival Fervor (2024), a porn festival founded by sex workers and their allies, where the rights and needs of the protagonists are put at the centre; They have been a producer of body-sensual research laboratories through performance and pole dance; They have presented their projects in the collective exhibition Post-Sexualities in the Faculty of Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid (2024); They have participated as an assistant and speaker at various conferences, including her talks at the MACBA Documentation Centre and as part of the seminar Trajectories and Activations of a Whore Archive as part of the Independent Studies Programme (PEI) of MACBA, or at the Capella showing their work to the residents of NOSYMMETRIES (2024).
Their audiovisual work has been selected in different international festivals (Porn Film Festival Berlin, Porn Film Festival Amsterdam, Porn Film Festival Rome, Porn Film Festival Warsaw, SNAP Festival Brussels, Erotic Film Festival Bogotá, Porn Film Festival Athens, Queer red Festival Amsterdam, etc.). Lately, They have developed an artistic residency in Emergencias 09' of FemArt de Ca la Dona and have been winner of La Escocesa CREA Grant (2024).
