It is a collectivized analog production workshop with a special emphasis on ceramic making. The digitalizing trend of recent decades has pushed artists and designers into working in front of computers, shaping a management of artistic production spaces that restricts their use to what does not make a mess, while marginalizing practices that bring together bodies and sticky, messy materials. The workshop is conceived to accommodate the needs of medium- and large-scale production, offering technical and spatial resources, while also proposing strategies for the collectivization of labor, knowledge, and shared responsibility. These strategies allow us to sustain and care for an infrastructure that responds to the artistic–craft production needs at La Escocesa.
