Dystopie Sound Art Festival

DEADLINE: July 1st

  • Description:
    Dystopie Festival brings diverse sound art viewpoints together in an exhibition that deals with current dystopian moments, as well as those of an imagined future. Following on from the premiere of the double edition Dystopie Berlin-Istanbul (2018/2019), the guest country for this year’s festival will be Brazil. In addition to artists from Brazil, the festival invite sound artists from Europe to submit new or existing works that deal with the topic of ‘dystopia’ in the broadest sense.
     
  • Who can apply: The open call is for sound artists living in the European region.

●            Financial Envelope:

Artist fee for existing works: 500€.

Artist fee for new works produced for the festival: 1500€ .

Production budget: 1500€ on average per project, including costs for materials and special equipment (also rented equipment). If your project will be selected a precise cost calculation will be needed.

Transportation, travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the festival.

●            Description:  Center d'Art la Panera annually call the Beques Art i Natura a la Creació, in collaboration with the Centre Artinatura CDAN / Centro de Arte y Naturaleza Museu de la Vida Rural and Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia, in order to promote research and creation in the field of visual arts. Two-month stay at the Center for Art and Nature.

EXCHANGE GRANTS BETWEEN HANGAR AND CASA DE VELAZQUEZ.

In collaboration with the IFB (Institut Français Barcelona)

DEADLINE: 30th JUNE at 1 p.m. (GMT +1).

  • Description:
    Two artists residing in Spain will stay at Casa de Velázquez in Madrid, in the form of a research residency, and a French artist will carry out a production residency at Hangar (Barcelona). This exchange program is supported by the Institut Français Barcelona. Research residence in the Casa de Velázquez (Madrid) for 2 artists with residence in Spain. Free access to the shared studios of Casa de Velázquez: engraving, sound and photo studio. Access to the library. Each artist will have free accommodation during the 2 months in the Casa de Velázquez. Period of residency *: September and October 2020.
    Production residence in Hangar (Barcelona) for a French artist. Period of residence *: from September to December 2020. Free accommodation in Hangar. Hangar workspace. Access to technical support.  Inclusion in various networks and platforms or the detection of the possibilities of their anchorage in the artistic sector. Access to all Hangar labs. Equipment and spaces for experimental purposes. Technical assistance in the production of punctual works. * subject to change due to the health crisis. See details in the guidelines.
     
  • Who can apply:
    Artists whose practice is within the fields of contemporary art, performance, sound art, visual and audiovisual arts, new media, etc.
     
  • Amount of benefit:
    For research grants at the Casa de Velázquez: each artist will receive from Hangar € 750 taxes included for maintenance each month (€ 1,500 gross total). Hangar will provide each artist with a fee of € 500 and a 500€ cash bag supporting research for each artist. The Institut Français Barcelona will cover the artist’s travel expenses with a maximum of €150 (one way).
    For the production grant in Hangar: Each artist will receive from Casa Velázquez an allowance for living expenses of €750 gross each month (for a total of 1500 € gross The Institut Français Barcelona covers the travel expenses from the place of origin to Barcelona and back for a maximum amount of €400.

Artist Residencies at Carpintarias de São Lázaro
São Lázaro Cultural Centre (Portugal)

  • Description:
    A 3 months residency in a studio space inside the cultural centre CSL, beginning in the month of September, 2020.
     
  • Who can apply:
    Non-portuguese artists with residency out of Portugal.
     
  • Financial Envelope:
    The selected applicant and artist in residence receives 1000 EUR per month for accomodation (as the centre provides just the space for a working residency), alimentation, and artistic production, including production costs of the final presentation.

  • Comments :
    The artists should propose dialogues between the centre CSL and its neighbors through workshops, photography sessions, vídeo tapes, meetings, exchange of ideas and others. Residency applications can be submitted in English and Portuguese. The candidats, who applied, have to be available for an online interview. Candidats will be informed via email of the online interview, to be combined previously. They accept applications of artistic duos, but the amount of money available through the Grant for AiR will remain the same amount as for a single artist. But there will be an additional health insurance in case of a double of artists.

    Unzip is the program to support the creation and mediation of visual art by the City Council of El Prat de Llobregat. Fine art, image, audiovisual, design, illustration, architecture, performance, sound art, hybrid and multidisciplinary proposals can be presented as long as the projects establish relationships between the various contexts of El Prat.

    Residents in Catalonia. Mode seven only for residents of El Prat or groups with half of the residents. No comment on requirement of self-employed regime. For production and financing of unfinished projects (modality 7). There are seven different modalities of participation of disciplines.
