After a selection process with more than 150 applications received, the jury formed by representatives of TEJA organisations has decided to select the following projects as part of the Emergency Residency Programme 2025 for Artists and Cultural Workers in Palestine:
Shada is currently working on “Birds that no longer want to migrate”, an ongoing research project that aims to document the stories of five birds, each representing a region in which they have lived.
The project focuses on examining the impact of human interventions on the movement patterns of these birds, ranging from local birds to endangered species, invasive species, birds that changed from migratory to resident, and finally fully settled birds. Shada works to link the sounds of these birds to the unique characteristics of the areas they inhabit, while exploring the local beliefs associated with them.
